Orchard Street, from memory

My childhood was spent running in and out of these doors, up and down the row of cottages.

Very much on my mind at the moment, not surprising my pencil began this sketch.

My sketch of Mum's Mouse Sketch

Right back to when I was very young, my Mum would draw the most delightful mouse to ornament cards, letters, notes - or just on his own.

Here is my tribute to Mum's mouse, and hoping she may draw many more.

Just recently my sister embroidered it onto some clothing for Mum, a wonderful idea, a great idea of how much this mouse has always meant to us.

Loch Ness Monster

Just had a text from someone I am writing to, they are en-route to Inverness. So I did this sketch mid letter. Now, either this is not Nessie, or Nessie is holidaying in a small lake.

The coach I imagined to be a 1940's rickety bouncy vehicle.

Later in the day I had a few minutes and a post it pad, Nessie was still going round in my mind. So Nessie and the Coach, Mark II.

Will I sketch any more Nessies before this this blog is scheduled to publish at noon Wednesday?

Snow on the Street - for Pa

Before Christmas I started a picture, but with two major events in our lives happening through this time I never got to complete. I think I will keep this half drawn sketch as it is to remind me of when my Pa died.

Vliegermolen Windmill, Voorburg, Holland

 

Drawn earlier this week at Voorburg in Holland. Twas so cold I ended up sketching with my gloves on. Brrr.

Still, I was able to finnish it off in the evening infront of a roaring log fire.

I had fun that day too filming storks and herons in flight, and photo-ing a whole heap of other stuff.

An Oasis

 

 

 A welcome sight to walkers, this café offers an oasis in which to gain refreshment and gain strength for the onward journey.

Virtual Prayer Cloaks

Taken a while to finnish this sketch off. Started thinking of various expressions of prayer we use.
People have asked me in the past why I use candles, there is nowt theologically significant in lighting a candle - though the bible mentions incense of prayer floating up. Nope, I like candles. they can be used as a platform, get you in the right frame of mind.
The other question floating through similtaneously was why sometimes we 'lay-on-hands' in prayer, or 'reach-out' towards the person we are pray for. Again more hooks on which to hang our virtual prayer cloak.

We are instructed through God's scriptures, Romans 12:12 be faithful in prayer 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Thinking through the day, if everything you do is prayer, prayer without ceasing; wonder at the many different cloak hooks on which you hang your offering of prayer.
